You could cut the tension with a knife in The Christmas Adventure on Friday when we held Stockeld Parks first ever Cupcake Wars!! Staff were seen mixing beating whipping and baking through out the morning to stick to their tight dead line to produce their entry for the competition. The general target to beat Head Chef Martin Kilbride. 5 entries were produced to high standards ranging from Strawberry Meringue Cupcakes to the more modest Fairy Cakes. Points were awarded out of ten for presentation and taste. The results were all very close however unfortunately a clear winner for both presentation and taste was Chef Kilbride with his beautifully decorated chocolate fudge cupcakes.

The Christmassy Vibe has most definitely arrived at Stockeld Park! In late November we received a heavy layer of snow covering our whole adventure park and grounds. Unfortunately the snow prevented most from driving to us, or leaving their homes at all! However those who made it through the treacherous road conditions were greeted with the breath taking views of Stockeld Park. The Nordic Ski came into its element, it was hard to believe that we were not in a Scandinavian country but alas in Yorkshire in November!
This November Stockeld Park experienced Santa's Real Reindeer! The Cairngorm Reindeers including Sholto, Stockeld Parks Sponsored Reindeer all live in Cairngorm in Scotland. They came down to visit The Christmas Adventure at Stockeld Park and to pull Santa on his Sleigh around our Enchanted Forest. The beautiful animals grazed on the grass whilst spectators stared in awe, they were then harnessed up and performed their parade around The Christmas Adventure. People flocked from far and wide to come and watch the parade, and two lucky competition winners had the chance of a life time and rode along side Santa in his sleigh. It was a fabulous event and we can't wait to see the reindeers again.

This summers major task was re-stoning the maze. Using a very large crane, a bucket on the end and ,,, a sainsburys' bag?! As the bucket was lowered to tip the gravel onto the paths he had to follow our handy sainsburys' bag on a stick to prevent him getting lost! The paths are now looking very smart along with lots of new features in the maze this year.
